Thirty-five distributors and manufacturers came together to attend the second Midwest Regional Young Innovators event, "Confronting the Collision of Generations for Prosperity, an Afternoon of Pigskin, Pints and Problem-Solving."
After touring U.S. Bank Stadium, new home to the Minnesota Vikings, the group moved to Day Block Brewing Company for networking and an interactive discussion led by InfoTrends' Will Morgan. The discussion centered around how millennials are influencing the print industry, as well as how distributors and manufacturers can work together to grow business.
"A powerful event!" said Shane Nemmers of Quality Resource Group. "It's so great to see distributors and suppliers coming together to focus in on making the industry a better place for all by developing trust and building solid relationships."
Mark Gerling of Flesh Co added, "I thought the event was a great opportunity to see a world-class facility, and at the same time meet some of our industry's future leaders, while learning their visions of the future."
The format, a mix of a fun venue and lively group collaboration, has proven to be a successful blueprint for these events and one likely to be repeated in 2017. Meeting chair Marne Slack also noted the support of sponsors Navitor, Flesh Co, Royal and
Quality Resource Group was a leading factor in her group's ability to present a very compelling event, while keeping the ticket costs affordable.
"We couldn’t have done it without our great sponsors, who stepped up to make sure we had all the bases covered for a meaningful program," Slack said. "I encourage anyone interested in working on future events to contact me or PSDA."
